Darko Dozet was born оn December 7th, 1976 in Novi Sad, where he finished Graphic secondary school, department of photography. In 1996 he got employed in Novi Sad journal Dnevnik. From 1998 until 2007 he has worked as a photo reporter at Tanjug News Agency, and since 2007 as a photo reporter of Company Novosti. He has cooperated with the most eminent world newspaper agencies, Reuters, European Pressphoto Agency, Associated Press, ant his photographs have been published by almost every world journal and magazine. His photographs have illustrated more than one thousand front pages of the most eminent media, primarily of Večernje Novosti. In his career so far he has tried himself in almost every branch of journalistic photography. Since the year 1998 he has been a member of the Journalists‘ Association of Serbia, being in its management since 2017. He has held independent exhibitions in more than fifty cities in Serbia and abroad. Darko is the author of the “Roots of the Soul” project, dedicated to Kosovo and Metohija, and a co-author of the project “Witnesses of Permanence”, presenting Serbian culture and legacy in the Republic of Romania. He is the one behind the photo monograph “Guardians of Memories and Witnesses of History” dedicated to his colleagues photo reporters from World War II till nowadays. On many an occasion, he has given lectures about newspaper photography on request at the Russian Museum of Photography, University of Novi Sad, Museum of Vojvodina, Cultural Centre of Novi Sad, Cultural center of Zrenjanin and many other institutions. Darko is a founder and president of the Photo Association of Vojvodina and one of the founders of the Association of Photo Reporters of Serbia, the first of its kind in Serbia gathering photographers employed in the media. He successfully organized a collective exhibition of Novi Sad and Vojvodina photojournalists “Objectively”, for seven years in a row. He has also organized the collective travelling exhibition ‘Operation Storm, a Contionuos Crime’ that had in past two years been shown at Trg Slobode and town squares of other Vojvodinian cities. With a blessing of Serbian Orthodox Church he has organized the exhibition “700 years of Krupa monastery”. He is a proud holder of many awards for work and creativity in the field of photography. Some of the most important are: in the year 2015 he won the fist award at the International Reportage and Media Festival Interfer and was proclaimed the best photo reporter of Večernje Novosti. In 2016 he won the “Laza Kostić” Award for photography, given by the Journalists’ Association of Serbia. He successfully organized a collective exhibition of Novi Sad and Vojvodina photojournalists “Objectively”, for seven years in a row. He was reworded by Serbian Red Cross with the Silver Symbol.
