Ivona Kochov was born in 1975. She was interested in photography her whole childhood when she used to visit the improvised laboratory of her father and uncle who enthusiastically developed film and created photographs. In the early 90s she started photographing with a simple analog camera. She then met Atanas Nashoku Saku, a recognized Macedonian photographer from Bitola. He was from the older generations and was impressed by how passionate Ivona was for photography, so he gifted her a Zenit camera. After years of intense photography, comes a period of stagnation due to lack of materials for film developing and as well as faculty obligations. With the appearance of digital technology, her interest for photography returns with a compact camera in 2009, A DSLR Nikon camera in 2013 and a more serious approach towards photography. All of that results with a membership in Photo Cinema Club Bitola and a more intense work that brings visible results in the following years. Ivona has been awarded with a bronze medal on the exhibition “STREET” and “Days of Macedonian Photography” in 2015, first prize on “With Love from Bitola” exhibition also in 2015, another bronze medal on the international competition “Photo Story” in 2016, IAAP silver medal on the international competition “View Point” in 2015, IAAP ribon and medal on the international competition “Days of Macedonian Photography in 2017 etc.
